Which is the best kit to purchase for a conversion for a 67 SS? Looking for the kit which is complete.

Are you looking for stock type brakes? Don't know if it's the best, but you can read a review of what I used here (http://www.chevelles.com/reviews/showproduct.php?product=122&sort=7&cat=21&page=1). You could also check eBay, I found this (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1964-1972-POWER-GM-DISC-BRAKE-KIT-GTO-CUTLASS-CHEVELLE_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33564QQitemZ80 16417626QQrdZ1)the other day and it seems to be a great deal. Both of them are pretty much complete, but you'll have to add some brake lines.

Freddy,
Are you looking for a disc conversion that would be considered factory '67, or purely interested in upgrading to disc, regardless of originality. There is quite a difference, specifically in the caliper configuration. The '67 and I believe very early '68 use 4 piston calipers, are relatively hard to come by and priced accordingly. If set up perfectly, they have potential to be comparible to performance aftermarket pieces, though quite a bit heavier. A half hazard installation can result in uneven wear, which in turn effects performance and pad life.

Much more reasonable, especially for "forget about it" operation, would be converting to the later model single piston caliper set up. I got mine on eBay from whitemanford, last winter. I didn't bother with booster or master, just the hub related parts (already had tandem m/c and dist block with integral prop valve). Can't say that I remember any problems, so it must have been a good find (bad experiences are etched in your mind).

I just compared prices and watched the various classifieds. Several times I considered just buying the actual specialty pieces (caliper mounting bracket, backing plate, etc.). Then purchasing the common stuff form a parts store (I worked a few years in the parts business, real parts, not franchise or corporate minimum wage idiots on computer parts). Even with discount and jobber pricing, there wasn't much difference in price, and a lot less pain in the arss, just to order the kit.

Can't get to your e-mail (you'll have to set up your preferences to allow that). I sent you a PM.
