Okay, i need a new set of front coil springs for my 71 when i put my new bb in and had a question. Do i sacrifice anything by cutting them to lower the car? I can't see spending $180 for "High performance lowering coils" when i can get a set for $60 and cut them! Thanks for ur time

When you cut them, you'll change the spring rate, basically stiffening the ride.

You may sacrifice ride and handling by improperly modifying the coils. Cutting the springs will decrease the number coils and increase (stiffen) the spring rate (lbs/in). Shortening the spring rate will alter handling and ride because the car will be over-sprung.
