I seen a 4 headlight el camino the other day, it had IROC on the door and vents on the fenders. Was this a factory car?

It doesnt ring a bell. Was it a factory front end or did it look like the Choo Choo Customs type Monte SS front end? Either way, there was no Iroc El Caminos built.

". . . There was also an "IROC" El Camino edition, featuring the same "Laguna" front end as the Choo-Choo Customs edition. More research is needed on the IROC version. . . "

I know the 2nd picture above is a custom, but it seems like you could also get one from the factory - maybe not GM's factory, but somebody's factory.

Actually, there was an "Iroc" El Camino built by Choo-Choo Customs:

Lurran engingering(sp)or something like that made a kit to put a mid style carmaro front end on a 80's El Camino to make them look like carmaros. if you go to montecarloss.com and do a search you can find what you are looking for

I have seen that picture before. So was that something built by both Chevy and Choo Choo customs? I thought Choo Choo was a aftermarket outside of original equipment?

Sorry, my mistake. The car I posted a picture of was a one-off 1986 Indy track service vehicle built by Choo-Choo Customs.

The one I meant to post was this one:

The company was called "Lauren Engineering". They used to have a web site but it must have changed or went away.

You could order some of the Choo-Choo versions directly from a local Chevy dealership. Chevrolet would build the basic El Camino and then ship it directly to Choo-Choo for outfitting. Then Choo-Choo would ship the finished car to the dealership for customer pick-up.

I will try and go look at the car again this week but if I remember correctly it had the factory bumper with an air dam below it with iroc type aluminum wheels
