I am looking at getting my car painted and straightened out over the winter. I settled on Viper red. I went to the body shop to see the guy today, and he pulled out his swatches and the closest one that I found was Dodge (or Chrysler I can't remember) High Performance. Also, I need some help with the name company. The guy said that PPG just bought this company. It was supposed to be better than PPG. I think it started with an I? Anyone have any idea what I am talking about?

Ok, so what I am getting at is: Does anyone have the code for Viper Red? Is the name of the paint familiar with anyone (I know I didn't give you a lot to work with)?

Looking to get it in the shop after the new year. I have seen this guys work and he does superb work. Had a SS396 Nova, Plum Crazy Challenger, 67/68 Camaro, along with some other cars. Thanks a lot,
Chris

He's talking about ICI AutoColor. If the guy cant get a paint code to paint your car he has problems.

ICI is the name thanks. It wasn't that he couldn't get the paint code, he had a wall full of swatches and he pulled out a Chrysler book of colors, and I asked "Viper Red" and he got "Dodge High Performance" red. He said that if I got him the number that he could do it that way, or he would call his paint reps for the number. I was just wondering for my own information. I have to go talk to him tommorow, so I will ask him to call his paint reps about it.
Thanks a lot,
Chris

The color books for Dodge from what 94 when the Viper came out to present there is a red called VIPER RED.

The books show you the color, give the OEM paint code and the paint code for that manufacotr of paint, like PPG, dupont, sikkens whoever paint store you are in.

Page 1 of the 97 Dodge PPG color book
fourth on the right first row: VIPER RED
OEM code number PRN
PPG code 73840

When you punch that code in the machine it might call something different the VIPER RED. Lots of times the color name in the book and name in the machine dont match...Eric
