72 SS Bubble Bee

Does anyone know if I can change out my 72 SS single head light front grill and lights set up to the 70 SS set up. I would imagine that I will have to change the core support, the grill, the light bezels, and the parking lights....
But do I have to change out the quarter panels or are they the same?
What about the rear, is it just the bumber and tail lights??

on the rear quarters are the same, bumper, bumper brackets, harness, changes, and the panel under the bumper too. headlight area behind the extension may need to be modified, probably could run without the turn signal on the side of the car in the front. Dont forget the front bumper is different and the bumper brackets are different too. hood latch bracket, the part that is vertical, the center of the grille screws to is also different. then youll need a splash pan and I think the bracket to mount the outside of the grille is different also. good luck!

The fenders are different also.

The wiring harness for the forward lights is completly different. You would have to modify the dash harness in your 72 to accomodate the 70 forward light harness, it's a MAJOR PITA to do.

Tom wouldn't you just splice a extra pigtail for the brights from the existing brites and lengthen the wires for the turn signals? and if he's into the custom look just do away with the turn signals altogether? and use the 72 fenders? Sound to me like he just want to do this for the looks, the title will alway say 72 so it doesn't seem to be worth the trouble to change the harness and all. Jim

Phil (was "pnutkemist" - now called "feedphillipnow") on this site has one all done.
It's a '71 I believe, but with a '70 front clip...

I wanted to use 71/2 fenders on a 70 to eliminate the side marker lights. The guys in the know here tell me the fender is different and therefore I couldn't mount a 70 rad support, bumper/light extensions etc on 71/2 fenders.
therefore, you would need an entire front clip, finders, rad support, light extensions, harness, bumper, etc. As for the rear. you'd have to modify the harness for the light assembly on the 70 bumper and change the apron below the bumper as it is different than the 71/2.
