I just installed the Glasstek fiberglass 4" cowl hood on my '69 and reinstalled the hood latch assembly. My question is that since this car sees regular driving including some on the highway would I also need to install a set of hood pins?
Thanks.

The stock hood latch should be fine, I use the pins to replace the latch. Some hoods don't allow for the latch assembly at all…

I have the same hood as you, and the latch. I was told by Glastek that it would not hurt to put pins on as well. I will be doing that in the next few months.

Thanks! The tire combo is 225/70's in the front and 275/60's in the rear mounted on Weld Pro-Stars.

I actually had to swap in a '68 hood latch. The hook on the radiator support is too long on a '69 and would not allow the hood to shut. Since our cars did not come from the factory with hood pins do you have any idea as to the specs around where they should be located?
Thanks

George, I am not sure exactly where they should be located.
As you might be able to tell from my car, I am not to interested in stock appearance( http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif) so I think that I will find a place where the pins will fit, measure MANY times, and put them in.
Hopefully it will work fine.
Good luck.
