Am trying to convert my da sanders to "dust free" mode and need a push in the right direction.

Basically am wanting to know what system works better. System 1 has the sander hooked up to an external vac source
System 2 has a self contained vac source or "Venturi" that collects the dust in bags.
Self contained unit (http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/pro_det.asp?P65=yes&tool=all&item_ID=54542&group_ID=12978&store=snapon-store&dir=catalog)
Ive used the external vac source before which works good but thought the system was kinda bulky.
Is the self contained system good or just a good gimmick?? Thanks...Eric

I have a Bosch DA with the integral dust bag that I use for woodworking. It is better than nothing but not much. If you want to be totally dust free, I would go with the external vac route.

Sorry about the previous post graemlins/clonk.gif The collision shop I work at uses a huge Eurovac set up and there are about 15 of us in the shop.I have a smaller diameter vacuum hose and a whip hose connected to my dynabrade sander. It is alot easier to handle and not so bulky.Hutchins and other companies make alot of different set ups for vacuum set ups.I really like how much cleaner my stall is and I'm sure it is healthier too.HTH graemlins/beers.gif
