I thought that would get somebodys attention. Seriously though, I stripped and polished to bare metal a fender on the 53 and I am not able to get at the rust in the lip of the fender, Should I try blasting it, or what? I really don't want to leave it. but I can't get in there with a stripping pad.

Zach, a REAL handy little tool is a speed blaster. Its a small hand held unit with a plastic tank on the top of the gun like handle.
The thing is sweet, great for small little spot blasting. Doesnt warp but can if not careful.
I bought mine from either the snap on or mac guy cant recall which but BOTH carry it. Ive believe Eastwoods also carries this tool. It goes for around 50 bucks...Eric

Get a gallon of muriatic acid from your friendly local hardware or pool supply. Just brush it on, keep it wet for 10 minutes or so and rinse it off. If there is still any rust left, repeat. When all of the rust is gone, neutralize any remaining acid with baking soda and water and rinse again.
The stuff works great but it's nasty to work with. Rubber gloves, a respirator and a full face shield are mandatory and do it outside with lots of water on hand.

I never thought of that I own a spot blaster with different rubber tips so I will give it a shot, I think with glass beads I will be ok with low preasure. I would try the muratic but I hate to get water near the rest of the fender it is so shinny from the 7 inch stripping disc. smile.gif
