This is pretty dumb question, but how do you get the chrome molding off a 72 chevelle's grille? I bought a malibu grille for my SS and want to take the two middle moldings off. I tried prying on them but I am affraid that I am going to break the grille doing it. Is there an easier way?

I replaced a bent one on my 72 Malibu and they are just squeezed on. You just have to carefully pry it off.

and the secret is....
There are small recesses along the backside easy to see if grill is out of car. The chrome strips grab onto these. I think there are one at each end and one in the middle. Unhook the strip at these locations first and they will pull right off. Prying will also do the job but you may bend the strip, especially if the edge is really hooked good under the lip of one of the recesses..
