Control arms are stripped to bare metal and ready for Paint. Was planning on using a light coating of acid etching, then primer, them a semi-gloss. Is the acid etching necessary? Thanks, Jim

If they have absolutely no rust on them, then use the acid etching primer. It helps with adhesion. I have always used Eastwood's Rust Encapsulator over the bare metal as a primer and to help prevent any future rust from coming through. I have done this successfully on many chassis part applications.

I use self etching primer from eastwood.
