: What are your spring-rate/sway bar combos?

I have mine bought already, but I really have no idea what to expect for a good balance of comfort and performance.

Smallblock/Automatic 2000#F 1560#R weight bias
Front: 700# springs, 15/16" stock dia. sway-bar.
Rear: 175# springs, no sway bar.

What do you have, and what are your thoughts? How is the ride on the Highway? Does it dive when autocrossing? BB or SB? etc...

I'll let you know when I get mine on the road. I ordered springs from coil spring specialties in KS. I ordered 20% stiffer then the stock Malibu springs (307 non a/c), or about 600# / 160#. I also ordered a 1" front, .75" rear drop. I'm running rebuilt factory suspension with a 12:1 steering box and the stock swaybar (15/16").

I'm probably going to add a 1-1/4" F 1" R sway bars.

650# front, 150# rears, 1.125" front bar and no rear bar here.

Back is OK, front is too soft. Trying to decide what direction I want to head with the car before dumping any more into the suspension but if I stick with the stock frame I'll probably go to 850 lb/in springs up front and play with the back springs from there to fine tune rear grip.

I have the stock front swaybar, and no rear bar. I'm not sure what my spring rates are, I need to try and find out from the HTH guys where i got my stuff.

I have Hotchkis springs 1" lowered (small block springs, but my car is a big block with aluminum heads), and I currently have the OPG cheap $79 (great deal) sway bars: 1.25" front and 1" rear. Really nice handling. I am going to install the new Hotchkis sway bars soon and see how they work or if they are differant. I will let yall know how that turns out.

I have the Hotchkis 1" lower spring set (small block ones with a small block that has aluminum heads). 1 1/4" front sway bar. No rear sway bar. Rides smooth on the highway, a bit soft. I'd like to try some stiffer springs eventually. Don't plan to add a rear sway bar. Car feels pretty neutral handling as it is.

I run 2 inch drop spindles with Hotchkis springs all the way around (small block). Sway bars are 1.25 up front and 1 inch in the rear. 235 60's all the way around. Handles great!!!!!!!!

750/175lbs
15/16" front bar, solid mounted ends/poly pivots
No rear bar but all spherical pivots to reduce roll stiffness

I have limited roll, could use more front spring though. Ride harshness isn't bad at all but I contribute that to not having any of the suspension mounts contribute to overall roll stiffness. This allows running a more spring rate for better control without having a harsh ride.

We're running 750# front/150# rear combo. The front is lowered 2.5"s and the rear 2"s. Front and rear swaybars are both SC&C modified splined and hollow speedway engineering units with seperate sidebars and endlinks. I believe our front is 1 1/4" and the rear is 15/16".

'64 Malibu 454 4 speed BB front springs, SB rear springs, 7/8" rear anti-swaybar and 1 1/2" front anti-swaybar, Edelbrock IAS shocks, heavy duty rear control arms, control arm braces and poly bushings front and rear. This car corners nicely, just like a newer car. No noticeable body roll. Dave
