Let me start off by telling you a little bit about my situation. I'm only 17, on a somewhat limited budget, planning to build my perfect (within reason) car to the best of my ability. I don't have a professional body shop in my backyard and have no real background in extensive automotive work, but I'm going to try my best. That being said...
I'm more worried about having a car I'm completely satisfied with. Originality is a plus, and I refuse to do anything tacky to my musclecar, but I have no worries about matching numbers. Enough rambling, here's my dilema:
I like the front end (4 headlights, big central grill) look on the '70 chevelle, but the round tail lights found on '71-'72s (and possibly others, I'm not sure). Now, what would I have to go through to put the rear-end of a 71-72 onto a 70, or the front end of a 70 onto a 71-72? I've seen these both done before, but I'm not sure what's interchangable or how much I'd have to do, or which process is harder. Keeping in mind that 70's seem to be more expensive, and if it's possible I'd like to buy a '71 and work from there (for cost purposes, if it would indeed be cheaper to go this way).
I think I covered about as much as I can. Any other questions I'll be happy to answer, and I appreciate your help. Thanx.
