Darrell, see my post for your other question on this subject. If this is the code that your PPG jobber is trying to mix for you and it is not available in basecoat, have them look for an "offset" color or they can call the color library for you and see if they have any formulas on file there. Hope this helps, ED

i had this same problem on a 68 roadrunner i am restoring at my job.i ordered a pint of the color in enamel(only thing available),sprayed out a test panel and had them take a "picture" of it with the chromavision(dupont) camera. this comes up with the closest match to an existing code in bc\cc.then i tinted it a little for a perfect match.or if you have the original color, look on the firewall or in the trunk, you can have them snap a picture of that.when i say them i am refering to your paint supplier.

I had trouble finding '69 Chev code 52 (Garnet Red)in a base/clear. It was only available from BASF Diamont. Sounds like the buttholes at the PPG store just don't want to help you. Maybe you'd be better off with another dealer anyway. The one I dealt with was courteous and helpful. They had to call and have the formula faxed to them. Of course at the prices they get for this liquid gold, they should bleed paint for you.

professor, You can see my car at Team Chevelle Feature Car. It was the March,'00 feature car. It's kind of a dark red color but looks pinkish in bright sunlight, like the 2nd photo. Looks maroon under fluorescent light.
