ok i had the body shop take apart my dash and paint it while it was in there to have the door fixed . They didnt have time to put it back together so I took it home to do the job.i just finished hooking everything up and bolting the dash up .Now my electric fan is blowing a fuse it's hooked up at the horn relay. I'm assumeing it's a bad ground somewhere but not i'm not sure yet.I know I have a star washer at the headlight switch and and ground wire comming of the cigarette lighter to the sterring column brace. is there something i'm missing. Since i din't take it apart i'm not sure about where things were

Sounds like the positive (+) wire, for the electric fan, somehow is pinched.

Ditto on what john said.
Also a "bad ground" as you say, Is an easy thing to blame it on, but usally doesn't blow fuses. That usally cuts the fan on and off or lets it not work at all. Or it could be a faulty fan motor.

Does the fan have it's own in-line fuse and that's the one that's blowing, or is it fused with the horn and your blowing the fuse that feeds both the horn AND the fan????

the fan has its own fuse off the horn realy . Just didn't get anywhere near the fan wiring when replacing the dash and figured they had to be related.

Like AC said if it's a bad ground, loose or bad connection, it should not blow a fuse. A loose or bad connection would cause higher resistance and less current flow. You have a problem with too much current flow, no doubt why John suggested a pinched cable.
