You may be amazed at what your local hardware store has for pennies each. I just picked up a bunch to do a '70 Nova grill. Check the pull out bins in the hardware section.

You can forget Lowes. I spent about 45 minutes yesteday searching for something "other" than the stock type that you have to pound in (and destroy everything else in the process) but no luck.

I know a place that sells the type with the nut on them but the cost is outragous. They want $6.00 to ship them! Im leaving out their name for that reason. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/wink.gif

Thanks for the link Frank. Im checking them out right now.

You can get the stock type but you really won't be happy with them. I have set for years now that do nothing but "shelf duty".

If you've ever tried to install these, you know what im talking about. They are impossible! I don't know why they even sell them. Would love to hear from anyone that has had luck with them though. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif

Stainless steel screws with lock nuts. Yes you read that correctly. I figured my car isn't concours, and if I ever have to redo the grill or something of that nature, undo the screws, do the repairs/adjustments, put the screws back in. Done deal.

Other plus, those dang thigs are so easy to keep clean, they don't rust, and they actually look pretty cool. They don't come lose, they're easy to replace, don't require pounding of any kind or using a rivet gun, etc. Oh I could go on....

Anyway, that's my 2 cents.

Man,i really like that luttyschevy's honesty.

They say "mad in taiwan" on some and "not good quality" on one of the 64 grilles.

Nice.

I have been buying a lot of stuff from Luttys, They dont like China stuff at all, but they are a good supplier of parts. A nice showroom/store near Pittsburg, 1 and one half hrs. from me. Very nice to deal with.

Frank,

These new type rivets are aluminum and have a nut attaching them. They look like stock rivets from the top but they have a theaded bottom with nut.
