What is the going rate to have a car transported across country? Open trailer is ok. Last spring (before gas $$ went nuts), I found rates at $.81/mile.

if you go on e-bay, there is a place you can click on, and get a rate. it's fairly expensive. it cost $350 to get my nova from san francisco to simi valley. i'm a transportation mgr. and most are charging approx. $1.32 a mile right now.

I had my 72 wagon shipped from South Carolina to Dallas, TX for $650. That was cheaper than I could fly in and drive it. The company was AACROSS Auto. Their website is http://www.aacrossusa.com/. They did a good job and the car was no worse for wear. They have a free proposal where you can put in the specifics and they will quote you. Of course, there are many others out there as well.

I do it wiyh My Rollback at about .85cents a mile. I do charge for all Miles, that includes ,From my house to picking it up, Delivering it and Back home. If you need Me just Holler with an E-Mail or P.M.

I just recently shipped mine from Chicago to Phoenix. Used an outfit called BT Auto Transport. www.btautotransport.com They said the rig and driver that picks it up will be the same that drops it off. No bouncing from truck to truck or sitting in a yard here and there until a truck goin in the right direction comes along. They delivered as promised. Could've gotten it cheaper than the $950 they charged but, I felt it was worth it. Driver even gave me his cell number if I wanted to check on his progress. I'd use them again.

My dad just shipped his 59 truck from Reading,PA to Deming,NM,about 2200 miles,and it cost him $1200,but it was a lot of trouble for them to get it on the trailer,as you can see by the pic.

Ive used Mike of MJR trucking out of Phoenix AZ 2 times now. He owns the company and his rig, so the car stays with him the entire time. Timely delivery, actually a little early the second time. Cost $900.00 door to door from PHX to Chicago burbs, about 1850 miles. The guy always has his cell phone on and you can call him anytime. There was also a slight problem after I got the car, he resolved it immediatly with no questions asked. I dont think he is listed, but PM and I can give you all of the details. He does deal with Muscle cars all the time. A crowd formed around the truck as he unloaded mine in my neigborhood, unfortunatly, it was for the General Lee replica behind my car.
