I am interested in purchasing a used 1999 to 2001 or so Chevy Silverado 4x4 or Z71. Lower miles is better but I figure that maybe no more than 100 150thousand. What I was wondering is what you guys think might be a fair price for a truck in this range? I don't want to spend more than $10k but haven't had much luck. I did find a 99 or 00 for $8500.00 but it had 333,000miles on it. The truck looked to be in decent condition mostly highway miles. Was thinking of going back and offering around $3500 or $4000 for it. Just looking for a few oppinions on it before I jump into a purchase. Thanks

About a year ago i bought a 99 GMC Sierra ex cab 4x4 with 103,000 on it and its pretty decent truck. Needed tires but that was it. I gave $8500 for it. There are some out there in the $10,000 price range if you do alittle looking. I would say to stay away from the one with 330,000 miles. Thats tons of wear and tear on everything. Try www.cars.com (http://www.cars.com) or www.autotrader.com (http://www.autotrader.com) if you dontmind to drive alittle to get one i bet there is some good ones for that money.

I just bought a 2001 EC 1500 CL Z71, loaded extras (alarm. GM (lund) running boards,xtang full tilt bed cover with 38K for 13,999 and traded my old trusty rusty 93 for EC 4x4 with 144k on it = $9.499 layout !

YMMV I looked for a few months and when the BIG jump in fuel prices hit I intensified my search and the Dealers were in a more Dealing mood..

Thanks for the replys... I am thinking of going to check on one in town. It is a step side and red neither of which I have ever been a big fan of but I kind of like this one for some reason.
