My trunk key is broken inside the lock, before it would still open, with a screwdriver, or the other half of the key, now it will not open anymore, classy huh? I havent messed with it yet, but need to open it up. Any ideas?

You have a couple of options.
1. Call a lock smith
2. Remove the back seat and access the lock from the inside. It’s easer then it sounds..
3. pop the lock with a dent puller (depending on weather your paint work is done or not)
4. If you have another key that works often times you can use a magnet a pick set to remove the broken piece…

Pull the rear seat, and crawl into the trunk with a flashlight and a straight blade screwdriver. You should be able to turn the lock mechanism with the screwdriver and pop the trunk.

Once it's open you can remove the lock cylinder by sliding the "U" clip off, and go from there.

how can you crawl in the back when theres a divider panel welded in the way?

Yes there is and it looks exactly like this

The hole on the top is large enough to get your arm & a long screwdriver in. But I’m thinking your going to have to be a lot thinner than I am to craw through it….

I have a 7/16" long socket made up special for this very task. I took a 4 foot long piece of rolled steel, cut an extension in half and welded each half onto the ends of the rod. Then just put a 7/16" socket on the 4' long extension and reach through the seat divider and unbolt the latch from the body.

I just use a bunch of extensions to reach the latch plate bolts from the back seat.
It does make a pretty wobbly long extension but it works.
A magnet is usless on a brass key.
