Has anyone out there ever grafted on the domedhood bumps and inserts from a '67SS hood to any other year hood?? I'm thinking of having this done to my '65 hood... :eek:

If you decode to try this do it in glass first. That way if you make a mista er or Revision your not out two metal hoods. Plus if you need to work on your skills this is a forgiving media.

Well in fact am planning on grafting 70-72 Buick GS hood scoops into a flat malibu hood for my 70 chevelle that am doing some custom work too.
Some will like it others will just shake their heads graemlins/sad.gif

There was a picture of a car here on TC a couple of years ago of the 67 scoops grafted on to 65 hood. I think it was on someones website. Could be the same one Sevt saw. I have been looking for a junk 67SS hood cheap at swaps and junk yards ever since of coarse no luck.I got an extra 65 hood just waiting for a facelift.
Don't even hesitate!(just do it) It added some extra flare that the 65s needed in my opinion...
And they would look awsomely sweet from the drivers seat!!! DANO

I actually like the 66 scoops better thant he 67's. Not to mention that they are more readily available (complete w/ inserts on eBay even!) than a decent 67 hood. They might be easier to adapt as well.

The 66 scoops will not work well on a 65 hood because of where the hood line falls and the shape of where the line falls on the bottom of the 66 scoops.The bottom of the 66 scoops are not flat!Could probably be done but the scoops would be only about 4 inches from the fenders and to me would not look as good as the factory location.Been there and thought long and hard about it.And I even have spare 66 scoops in my shed.I'm going with the 67 scoops someday.
