My car has a rust spot (thru) about the size of a golfball. I can repair the hole but can i get new black material to cover this area?

I believe the black material you are refering to is the thick black caulking they use to seal around/set the front window with.

The convert part you seek is not repoped. You will have to search in yards/ chevelle used parts dealers. May get expensive, or you can have a welder cut out the old and prefab you something new. I believe the area is covered up with chrome or plastic if its the top part. If it is the bottom of the window, they make repops for inside to front of cowl at bottom of window. I actually have an extra one that I never used.

If you are talking about the convertible header, where the top sits on top of the windshield; then yes the material is reproduced. JN

The top bow is repoped. But I was thinking he was looking for the top part of the window frame.

I think he might be looking for the vinyl they cover the top section of the windshield with. I know they repop the header but the feeling I get from this post is what I stated above, if not what am I out; an opinion. JN

Thanks for the responses...

Drivers side, where the top meets the "frame" there is a hole thru the metal which needs to be repaired, in addition there is a viny covering, the length of the roof that is destroyed, this is what i'm looking for.

Thanks again

OK, now I am really confused. If you are talking about the front portion of the convertible frame, this is called the header panel, and yes it is reproduced. If you are talking about the top frame portion of the windshield ( the convertible top header panel rests upon and seals to) this is not reproduced. If you are just talking about the vinyl covering on top of the frame for the windshield, this is also reproduced. Good luck. JN

Cut out the remaining rusted metal to good metal, weld in a patch, grind, fill and prime. Then get a 5" wide strip of vinyl from a trim shop to match the old grain and glue it in place, done.
