Hey Guys, Somehow I have lost the retaining nut on my 66 Chevelle wiper switch. This is the nut that holds the wiper switch to the dash. It is a very odd thread (1/2-28) and will be impossible to find in a hardware store. I've checked online trying to buy another switch just for the nut and no luck. Does anyone have an extra or any good ideas? Thanks in advance.

Mike,
I have seen them in the "HELP" section at O'Reilly's

Did you guys ever find this part? I have one but mine is all stripped out and I need a new one.
Thanks,

I'll look, theroretically, I should have three out in my garage (three dashes in various states of disassembly). Only two are expected to be used (third car is resigned to be cannibalized). I seem to remember one had a '67 switch, do they use the same nut, I know that the knobs are different. I also don't know which switch will be desired by the purchaser of one of the three cars that I sold to a neighbor.
I do know that one of the originals will be going into my car. I'll see what I can dig up and post later. I guess that would be a definite maybe.
The above post is referring to the "HELP" Service line products that most chain part stores (Checker, Auto Zone, Pep Boys, Etc...) sell. It usually takes up most of one isle and is various odd ball parts packaged in red "blister packs" hanging peg board style.
