Was winding up my new strings and got a little carried away with the winder crank and the B string snapped and actually shot right into my forearm about an inch. I think it hit a nerve because my arm went numb for a minute. I think i was more upset of breaking the string...
This follows yesterdays blow gun incident where i had a wide-headed dart jam two inches into the meat of the palm of my hand (right below the thumb). Same arm too.. I had to slowly pull the dart out. I think i need to be more careful with my toys.

Anyone have any body puncture stories?

Yeah, my buddy gaffed me through the calf on a little fishing trip this summer..im lucky there was no barb on that bad boy! I have 2 nice clean puncture scars on my calf that wont go away...1 tetanus shot and 1 week of anti-biotics, and a good month to heal over!

I was really lucky he didnt hit an artery or something..we were 20 miles offshore when it happened. I did the natural thing...requested a beer, and reeled in the next big bluefish that was hooked.

Needless to say..his new nickname is captain hook.

My EX had a sewing needle stuck in the arm of the couch and forgot it. Well I found it. I jammed my hand down on the arm of the couch as I flopped on the couch, only to shove the needle into the palm of my hand eyelet first. I went in about 2 1/2". I went over to my wife and showed it to her and she freaked. It didn't hurt because it was numb and tingling. I grabbed a pair of pliers and pulled it out. I thought she was going to past out. I just laughed my ass off at her. It did make me feel better to laugh at her.

I forgot when i was 5 or so, i kneeled down in front of the wall heater and had a sewing needle go all the way in my kneecap. I threw a fit of course, even though it didn't hurt.

The 2 I remember is 1) threw away trash bag with metal shish kabob sticks in it I didnt know about until it went threw my palm when I pushed the bag down and 2) years later was running and fell down and did the natural thing of putting my hands out to brace the impact and sent a piece of wood so far into my hand you could see it on the other side of it, maybe 1/8" and it to would have pierced threw. Ahhh, memories.

When I was a teenager working with my Dad in construction, my girlfriend showed up. I jumped off the lower portion of a roof and landed on a piece of wood that had a 16 penny nail in it. Went right into the middle of my foot. Kinda hard walking with a big board nailed into your foot. Man that was embarrassing, didn't really hurt much either, at that time but sure did later.

This all happened when I was pretty young, maybe 10-12 yrs old, I grew up in the country and my dad always had a bunch of farm equipment and scrap steel around. I wrecked my bike at the back of the property one day and a foot long peice of scrap flat bar stuck into my forearm and stuck in the bone, I pulled it out and went back to the house to get my dad. I told him what happened and he didn't believe me (thought I was exagerating, plus I wasn't hurting very bad) The wound had sealed itself back up and wasn't bleeding very bad, it basically looked like a scratch. My dad took my arm and pressed his fingers around the spot and it opened up, the fatty tissue rolled to the outside of my arm and it started gushing blood. he took me to get some stiches, still have the scar as a reminder.

my first job out of high school i was running a turret lathe in a small machine shop. i would hit the collet release then put my fingers around the part while it spun down slow enough until i could pull it out. one time there was a huge hanging burr on the o.d. of the part, sharp as a razor. it went in the tip of my finger and ran just under the skin all the way past the first knuckle. burned like heck when the shop foreman pulled it out slowly with tweezers. after that i learned to let the part come to a stop BEFORE i pulled it out of the collet. and ohhh BTW i have had punctures from guitar strings myself. those first and second strings have very nasty ends especially if you use a real thin one like a .009 or .010.

I just remembered this one. I'm not sure how I forgot it. I was cleaning my frame with a hand grinder and a wire wheel. I guess the rpm's on the grinder were to high because the wire bristles were flying off when I touched something. Well I had my foot up on the frame and was resting my arm holding the grinder on my knee. When I touched the frame wire bristles flew but I get on going. I was getting stuck the whole time but didn't think much of it. I pulled several wires out of my uniform and get going. When I went to walk off I felt a sharp pain like a wire sticking me in my crotch. I look and only found a bump. The more I moved the more it felt like a wire was sticking me. I then had a thought. What if the wire was in my leg? I went to the doctor and had it xrayed. Sure enough there it was a 2" wire bristle was inside my leg right next to my..well ummm, you know. The doctor said he didn't want to go digging around in my leg to try and find it, all you could see was an entry bump. So I still have it in my leg 1 1/2 years later. That was just too close to my boys!!! :clonk:
