Hello folks,
I have a '66 Chevelle convertible and I've been trying to figure out what the original top color was. The car is mist blue with black buckets. Right now, the top is black - and that could well have been the original color for all I know.
The trim tag paint code is D2. The D is almost certainly the mist blue body color, but I'm not sure about the '2'. I've seen Mist Blue given as 2D - or Mist Blue #2, so maybe it's that.
If so, the top color field is blank. I can't find any info on the top color field for '66 though. I think a blank field meant a blue top in '67, and the standard top for '65 was evidently white (don't know if they indicated this by a blank though).
I suppose another possibility is that the '2' indicates the top color, but I can't find any reference to Chevelle having used a number for the top color field.
Thanks for any help.
