this may be a simple question for all you techs out there, but, I'm tired of shifting my 3spd. would like to swap to a 350 TH automatic with column shifter. your thoughts?

If your 68 is like my 64 C10, there's no crossmember under the rear of the transmission. The tranny is bolted to the cast iron bellhousing and sort of just hangs here in mid air. I like the idea of a swap to a TH350, but you'll have to find a cross member. Go to the old truck forum on www.chevytalk.com and you will likely find a vendor for a pre-fabbed crossmember. You'll need an automatic steering column as well, and the larger brake pedal for an auto-equipped trcuk if you really want to look slick.
