My rubber bumpers located on the ashtray are practically gone. Does anyone know who makes a replacement or a suitable substitute? There are 2 of them and they are attached in place with 2 screws. These fit a 1970 Chevelle ss.

Looks we're in the same boat. I found a part number but I'm not positive it's the right one. 3918212 but the part is either gone or may have a new number.

According to my 1970 assembley manual, the part number for the ashtray bumper for the 2 door sport coupe is #3975858. I was looking in my McMaster catalog and I found what I think is a very close substitute. I'm going to try and order it.
If it looks similar and works well, I will post the part number and information for those that want to go that way.
I am also missing the ashtray right side spring (or maybe its the left side, I'm still trying to identify which side I have)
I show part numbers GM 3975889 left hand and GM 3975856 for the right hand spring.
Does anyone have any available or no of a working substitute. McMaster calls them a torsion spring and has many available, but no left hand springs, all right handers.

I did find an ashtray at a swap meet for a Nova - beleive 69 or 70 - the spring looked identical, I used it my 70 repro dash in the convertible and it works great - try the swap meets or junk yards for those ash trays - only one spring is needed.

I got a set of those ash tray springs on e-bay. The seller was Chicago Muscle Car Parts or something like that.

Thanks guys for all of your help,
I ordered those silly springs from Chicago Muscle for my SS ashtray late last week. I also ordered some rubber bumpers for the upper ashtray attaching mounts that came on mine from the factory from Mcmaster-Carr. I had to buy 100 of them for $11.00. They are very, very close to the original factory rubber bushings and they have a metal washer embedded in them for extra support.
If anybody else needs them, give me a shout and I will send some to you.
98 of these would last me about 98 lifetimes.
