Clark,
I replaced my evaporator on my 70, 396. I had an NOS replacement - they are pretty big. I don't recall there being different sizes.
In any case they do make seal kits for the box, Ground Up, Year One, OPG - They all carry it. I purchased two kits as one did not have enough gray foam tubing. I used the kit with Weather strip adhesive and silicone sealant. I also had to modify some pieces to fit correctly, all in all it worked out well.
