thinking of a voodoo or xe or magnum

Shane,

To me, this one is a no-brainer.....
A 468 at 10.3:1 CR. 3000 SS converter, and 3.73s needs a Lunati 60212, the VooDoo 282/290 hydraulic roller. It is 231/239 at .050, .600"/.600" valve lift, and 110 LSA.
We had a cut-off at 6200, but it went there. Peak power would be about 5800, and very strong from 3000 on up. Go to www.holley.com/types.asp?type=526 for more info.

Will this cam clear stock BBC LS6 11.0 pistons without having to do any alterations? If not is there a Lunati hyd roller that will?

You have a very similiar combo to the one I have going together. Except I am using 290 ovals with 2.19/1.72 valve combo and the CR will be a stout 10.7/1, may even end up at 11/1 depending on the head gasket I go with. Right now I am planning on using my CamMotion 233/236 @ .050, .600/.610, 112 LSA/108ICL. Giving up a little top end with the 1.72 exh and the 3* less exh duration, but am planning on swapping out the exhaust valves to undercut stems for exh flow. Either way, I do think the key to making hyd rollers work is having the right static compression. With 10.3/1 you should have crisp throttle response and a lot of torque. My 408CI motor only has 9.5/1 with a 230/242 @ .050 cam, although it runs good, it lacks that "bite" you get with a higher compression motor. JMHO, but I tend to think that we have all become conditioned to be afraid to run some compression, so we end up running low compression and then small cams to make it palatable.

Sounds like you are heading the right direction to me.
