Did all '70 Malibu's have the chrome trim on the top of the fenders and doors or was that trim optional?

TIA

Chrome trim was standard on the Malibu for 70.

I second Rich's reply. The 1970 Chevy parts book lists those moldings as correct for all Malibu models for 1970. The only two models that would not have received them would be 1) obviously the SS; 2) a standard, non-Malibu Chevelle (13337 or 13437 VIN)

They are not chrome.

They are aluminum !

I have 2 sets of this trim. It is aluminum and can be polished up to look like chrome.

Sorry - chrome - aluminum - whatever - shiny stuff that trimed the fenders - guess I should have been more descriptive.

Those are part of the exterior trim called; "Bright Door & Quarter Belt Moldings, and Fender Peak Molding"

Standard on the Malibu 13537, 13637, 13567, 13667, not available on the base Chevelle 13337, 13437, 13367, 13467 and omitted when the SS option was specified on the Malibu 13637 and 13667.

I've always thought a "belt" molding would be more towards the middle of the car, thus the name, belt.
Peak moldings are more towards a top edge, thus peak.

My '70 had this trim when I bought the car. I removed it and filled the holes before painting it.
