Hey i was just offered a 70's era oldsmobile 455 motor, 400 trans, 12bolt rear end and disc brakes. The guy is giving them away for free and I wanted to know if any of this mainly looking at 12 bolt and disc's will match up with my 68 chevelle. The guy didnt give an exact year on the olds but I was told that since olds and chevelle are A body that they should match right up.. Let me know Thanks!

I may be wrong so don't hold me to this. You could get it to fit into a chevelle, but I don't think it will line right up perfectly.

if its a 64-72 a-body the rear and discs are a direct bolt in, the motor on the other hand will go in but will require some modes like the olds frame (motor Mounts) the starter I think is on the drivers side I think so you will need to re-route the wires. All GM A-body cars have a tone of interchangeability, get a hollanger book it will tell you all parts that will swap over. good luck

I agree, i installed a 1970 Cutlass Posi 10 bolt rear in my old 70 Malibu with no fitment issues whatsoever. Just like it was born there. Everything else would most likely require modification to some extent
