: Powdercoating companies in Northeast?

The '71 frame will be ready for stripping and refinishing soon...not sure if I want to use POR-15 products this time, or have it powdercoated.

Are there any reputible powdercoating companies anywhere in the Northeast/Mid-Atlantic states area that can handle an automotible frame? Thanks!

Physician heal thyself!

I've located two coaters, both near Albany, NY and will be visiting their shops next Friday 11/29.

There is a great power coating co. here in central N.J.. I don't know if you would want to go that far, but if you want a real nice job,it would be worth the trip.Interested? I can get you a number. If ALSS reads this he has the info cause he has used their services...Bill

I had a local guy powdercoat my complete Elky frame including a-arms, all bumper brackets and cross member. Luckily, he had an oven big enough to do a car frame. Total with the sandblasting was $600. Color was chassis black. Easy to keep clean, too.
Since then, he's also done my Camaro a-arms, battery tray and both inner fenders in glossy black. Gonna have him do the sub frame next...

Airborn Coatings in E. Hartford CT (860-528-8281) will do it for about $600.00. They first bake the frame to dry/evaporate any miosture and oils then sandblast it, blow it off and powdercoat it. They also ceramic coat headers. Reputable company. There is also supposed to be a place in Holyoke, MA but I haven't checked them out yet. Hope this helps.

I was going to suggest Airborne Coatings as well but Dave beat me to it. I have not used them but they seem to be good based on what I've heard. I am thinking about having them do a boat trailer for me.

They have a website that includes info about all their coatings and pricing too.

Dave & Silver LS6:

Looks like a trip to Airborn is in order too. I've got the day off on Friday 11/29, and could probably hit all three companies if I leave early enough. Thanks for the link too! ROAD TRIP !!! http://www.chevelles.com/forum/biggrin.gif

Anything for the Chevelle, right?
