I'd like to start off by thanking Enrique (Slowpoke70) and his brother Jesus for helping me out last night! A very BIG  I was hoping to meet Thomas (Bomber) but I'm assuming he left before I got to the track. And much appreciation goes out to Adam for helping me out in setting my total timing! I don't believe Adam is a TC member, but his help changed what would have been a flop outting to the track to an unbelievable tire shredding new et dream!

Ok, now to for the goods!

All runs were done with tunning and on street tires. I had the slicks in my trunk but didn't have all the lug nuts :clonk:

My first run was TERRIBLE!!! Car ran really bad..

R/T .... .715
60' .... 2.150
330' .... 5.988
1/8 ... 9.187
MPH ... 76.54

Car bogged off the line and generally ran crappy!

2nd run Adam came along and helped me set my total timing to 36* (prior to this I had to idea what my total timing was set to, but inital was at 14*)

R/T ... .573
60' .... 2.274
330' ... 5.918
1/8 ... 8.897
MPH ... 81.25 (fastest ever was 79mph, NEW BEST!)

Car ran A LOT more powerful! I had NO traction whatsoever and spun like crazy off the line. I had stalled up to 1500, then mashed the pedal.

3rd run ...No changes to motor, stalled up to 1500 again, but left the line softer

R/T ... .490 (DOH!!! :clonk: )
60' .... 1.995 (old best was 2.02)
330' ... 5.568
1/8 .... 8.568 (NEW BEST!!! fastest was 8.80@79)
MPH ... 82.47 (New best again!)

4th run ... I left it in drive this time, kept stall at 1500rpms. Guy handing out time slips told me I needed a helmet because I broke 8.59 (I still ran anyway :D) Also, the past 3 runs I had been hitting my rev limiter. I was either shifting too early or too late.

R/T ... .955
60' .... 2.036
330' ... 5.579
1/8 .... 8.603
MPH ... 81.05

Last ran ... I figured what the heck, I'm going up against a ricer, I'm gonna let him have it! I threw it down to first again, stalled up to 1500rpms, and tried my best to ease her outta the hole, and I FINALLY hit my shift points on time!!!

R/t ... .569
60' .... 1.912 (New best!!!)
330' ... 5.436 (New best!!!)
1/8 .... 8.373 (New best!!!)
MPH ... 83.05 (New best!!!)

Well, as you can tell, my outting last night was definatly a GREAT ONE!!! I honestly didn't know my car had it in her to go that fast. And here I was hoping and praying to at least break into the 8.70's (8.60's would have been a dream come true), and then I break into the 8.30's...all I can say is WOW!!! What a rush!!! The funny part is, I didn't even feel like I was going all that fast. I just launched, shifted, braked, and it was over. LOL Man, I just can't get over it! I LOVE MY CAR!!!

Nice going, that is about a 13.2 in the 1/4.
Glad you had fun.

Good job man. Glad we could help although all we did was supply the the timing light. I'm going to try setting my total timing today, but man its scary to be under the hood with the rpms up that much. But at least now I know how to do it.

You know what I was thinking about when I got home though? Didn't the timing get set with your Vac Advance hooked up? Maybe your advance can doesn't work?

Which spring did he end up putting in your carb, the tall yellow or the short yellow or?

It was a great time, it was nice to see your car run hard, like I thought it should.

Now you just need to work on those reaction times. :]

Good job!

Yeah, no kidding, we never disconnect the vac advance :clonk: I totally forgot about that. Before Adam came, I was about to dissconnect the line, then I ended up looking for the 7/16" wrench and forgot all about it. I don't remember which yellow spring I ended up putting in. I remeber Adam squeezing both and telling me that there really wouldn't be too much of a difference and handed me one of the yellow springs. I'm just guessing, but I think I might have the short yellow spring in the carb. I'll have to check it out later.

With slicks, no front sway bar, and better tunning, what do you guys think I can run? Adam told me that if I were to take my car to his shop, he'd slap it on his dyno, do some carb tunning and pratically guarenteed(sp?) me that my car would be runnins 7s....what do you guys think? Man, almost sounds too good to be true :D

Yeah, I read about what happened. But he still made to the track, just didn't run.

LXS, good times. What's your combo and what kind of tires were you running?
