DONT Push the dry time on this plasti-kote or it doesn’t work. Decided to detail a perfectly good trunk on my 70 SS today and looks like now it will take two more days to sand and re-do. Laid down 5 cans of HDP-1218 502 Aqua & Black and 3 cans of HDP-1220 349 clear - Pushed the dry time by two hours in between spatter and clear, next thing you know we have snow. Or at least flakes the clear actually dried to an off white and in some spots flaking?? Actually the base coat did not look right as it relates to matching and even coverage?

Can you spray another coat over this clear just by red padding?? Or do you have to take it all off?

did the black with aqua match your original spatter?

Not really, but than again I have reason to believe this trunk is still "was" possibly orig un-touched.
Which may be the reason it did not look right?

Conclusion: The 349 Classic Lacquer supplied to go over the 502 splatter does not mix – “key word here is LACQUER!” Had to red pad and re-detail trunk, laid down another 4 cans of plasti-kote black primer, 4 more cans of 502 and top coated with 3 cans of 505 clear ACRYLIC – LOOKS GREAT!!

Lesson learned – Lacquer over enamel splatter = snow. Note: Can even states if 505 is not available use any plasti-coat high gloss clear, personally I would not recommend it!
