I'm restoring and changing the color of my dash. I cleaned, repaired and painted the cluster bezel and gauges. It all came out nice, but the clear plastic lens that cover the speedo and the gauges really need some TLC. I was thinking about just replacing them until I priced them out ... at $34.00 each  !!

So now I'm wondering if you all have any ideas of how to clean or buff these bad boys to make them clear and clean. Any and all ideas are welcome. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Sounds like the kind of stuff I'm looking for. Is it readly available at places that sell Maguire's car wax? Thanks.

There are several different polishes that will work. I have never tried it, but have heard that the polish you use for visors on motorcycle helmets works well. I have used a polishing kit called Micro-Mesh on several plastic lenses, and IMO, it's the best thing you can use on most plastic parts. It's a kit with polishing cloths in different grits, plus a fine polish. The best thing about it is that it will work even if you have deep scratches. You just choose a grit that will remove the scratches, then work your way down to the finest grit. You can find it at Micro-Mark (http://www.micromark.com/) or most good hobby stores. It costs $19.95, but will last for many years and can be used for a lot of things. I have used it to polish speedo lenses, sunglasses, car models, spot repairs on cars etc, and I'm sure there are many more uses.

Maguire's is the ticket. Use their cleaner first and then go at the lenses with their polish.

I bought my Maguires at the local NAPA store. They had it on hand, but if they don't, I know they can order it in, usually overnight. Dan

I use Meguiars "Scratch-X". Worked Great! Remember to use a microfiber cloth.

Cleaned up mine this spring using good old fashioned toothpaste... Worked like a charm, it's cheap and the car was minty fresh for a bit! ;)
