The rear of my top has become completely untacked from the under side of the rear deck. The top has a few small rips in it, but I don't want to spend a bunch of money right now (almost winter) to get it replaced. What would be the best way to complete a temporary (i.e. one year or so) fix to get the top back to being secured under the rear deck??
Thanks.
Hey 22,Have you really looked into how the top fastens to the well?it is by 3 metal runners,a long one in back, and 2 short ones on the sides, they are bolted to the well. When the top was installed it was fastened to the inside of those runners, then bolted to the well I believe with the well liner, from inside your trunk you should beable to unbolt the runners, then access where the top pulled away.is the top rotton in that area or is the backer that runs in the channel rotton or did the top just pull away,If its the backer(If you dont have the means to replace the backer, just bring the channel to an upolestry shop and they will put new backer in the channel for you,its cheap to do and they will tell you what staples to use to fasten the top back on) ,just replace it and staple the top back on paying attention to where the top was stapled before. If its the top thats rotton, bummer, but you might get away with using another material over the top where it is fastened to the runners to staple through to sandwitch and help hold the top to the runners.Just be carful when bolting the runners back on as they strip from the well fairly easy,Darryl

I did look and the top is just pulled away, so that the plastic rear window is hanging below the runners with staples exposed.
