The rear of my top has become completely untacked from the under side of the rear deck. The top has a few small rips in it, but I don't want to spend a bunch of money right now (almost winter) to get it replaced. What would be the best way to complete a temporary (i.e. one year or so) fix to get the top back to being secured under the rear deck??

You may find that the fiber insert in the rail the top is stapled into has become rotted and is pulling out. If that's the case, you'll have to replace it. Go to a trim shop and ask for the rear trimstick tack strip. It is now plastic (no more rotting).
