: Poll; what color accent for my 49.
Moloko Nov 2nd, 05, 11:14 AM Here is a good poll for you guys. My car is going to be satin black, and slammed with white walls. Im thinking of red, neon green, or just black. This would be the engine, wheels, and other small accents. Here are some pics to give you an idea what I mean.

1BLACKHARLEY Nov 2nd, 05, 11:27 AM MOLOKO, i love these type of cars, but the satin black thing, even though cool, is being done to death. how about an old school fade? frost or mint green to a pearl white or silver. i'm not into easter egg paint jobs, but at the last few shows i went to, the fades really stood out. mint green wheels with a simple chrome ring and chrome lug nuts. if you want to stay with the satin finish, how about mint green with red scallops, satin red wheels. or maybe a switch, satin red with black scallops. someday i want an early chevy, to go old school with. i'm very jealous. good luck.....
Derek69SS Nov 2nd, 05, 11:43 AM Red wheels, engine, and interior... plain black exterior, with some red pinstriping around the chrome.
Motorhead62 Nov 2nd, 05, 12:03 PM I vote green, that is the color combo of my 67 C-10 Chevy truck. Flames and Skulls baby!
chadh5 Nov 2nd, 05, 5:08 PM I've had my share of black cars with red wheels, but it has been done to death. You can argue that it is the quintessential hot rod look, which it is, but everybody and their brother that have just discovered traditional hot rods and "rat" rods has to paint their car flat black with red wheels. So if you want to stand out, pic ANY color but red. Of course, if you are the only one in your area building a traditional car amongst a sea of 5.0s, Camaros, and muscle cars, and you dig the red, then go for it.
I run black wheels on my coupe. Even my chevelle runs black steelies.
Think of green as "anti-red". hahaha
I vote for a semi-gloss black kinda like the coatings on NOS body panels for the whole car. Then add red accents.
