I am finally able to move forward on my 69 Charger. I sent it out yesterday and had it sandblasted. After it was all finished, I took it back to school and shot some sealer on the bare metal. Now I can begin repairing all the rust and rot holes in it. I found a few suprises that I didn't know were there, but better to find them now then later. Here is a link to a few pics I took last night...

Looking good Tom, is this a big block Charger? Will it be ready for the UPS burnout contest next year?

Cant wait to see what it looks like when it is done.If you can't catch any old re-runs, you'll have to wait until the DVD comes out. ;)

How soon does the orange get sprayed? :)

General Lee? You have to be kidding.... right?I'd have a hard time building a '69 charger any other way... the general is just too cool

Tom, let me know when you're ready to take it off some sweet jumps

Brings back memories.... Bought a '69 off the showroom floor. 440/375 SE edition. Medium Blue metallic, Black vinyl top. With headers and a Crower cam ran 13.10. Not bad back in the day for a street car on "skinny" tires.

Tom,

Looks good. My '68 just got the 'Lizzard Skin' put in. It is a sound dampening material. See page 3 of my post in Dodge Charger Forum
http://www.dodgecharger.com/index.php/topic,1207.0.html

Keep it up. Check back on mine too from time to time. I ordered up a bunch of stuff from Year One. I am in line waiting for Just Dashes to dye my interior to that metalic red ('68 specific) from its original black. Once it's done, in three long months, I will continue on with finishing the interior.

Nope, I am not kidding about it being a General. I've been wanting one for years and I am finally able to make one (since I can't afford a real one from the show). Sorry Derrick, this one stays planted on the asphault where it belongs :). I plan on having all the welding done by Christmas and having the rest of the bodywork done by March or so, then I'll send it out for the actual paint and decals.

are you gone to make it a real clone with the correct wheels, and tan interior, and CB.

The only thing I am not doing is the tan interior and the reason for that is I already have an interior ready to go that is in mint condition, but black in color. If I can find a way to dye the black pieces tan, I will, otherwise I am leaving it black. There is no reason to spend thousands of dollars, which is what Mopar interiors cost, when I have all brand new stuff ready to go in. I do plan on finding a set of the AR Vectors for it eventually also, too many people try to sell Vector look a likes as the real thing.

I believe that they (american racing) are re-releasing the vectors in the near future, Heres the link.

69 Charger has to be orange with tan interior, flag on top and "01" on the doors for me.... Just the same way that all 77 - 78 T/A's have to be black with gold decals and gold snowflake rims... :)
