Bob West Oct 30th, 05, 10:55 PM no TENS :( I made 8 passes today, not gonna post the last one because I used nitrous again, blew the tires off, then cut out down track til I turned it off, went 11.38 @ 122. The track wasnt there either, rained this morning, took 4 hrs to get the track in race condition, then we had to run 1/8th mile til the other half got dried out enough to use it.

Bob, can you direct me back to where your complete car combo is listed. I just wonder if there isn't something simple that would make a difference for your car. What tire pressure are you running?
I wish I had your 60' times - I think something in my current suspension is costing me a couple of tenths by comparisson to your 60' times.

Bob West Oct 31st, 05, 7:23 AM Thanks,,,,just a perfectly timed fart might blow me across the line .02 quicker :D I have it jetted 82/82, thats what produced the quickest e.t.s last spring, I might go up to 84 in the back or try a 1000HP I have access to. ;)
I'll see if I can run it down after work Thomas, not enough time right now. Most details are on the detail page of the pictures link below. I'm open for any ideas.

Bob West Oct 31st, 05, 8:02 AM That would do it...starve myself this week ;) The back half seems to be fine at over 24mph on the best passes. Maybe the carb is a little too fat on the front side, but seems to rev cleanly,and goes when I nail it, might jet down slightly.

71malibu406 Oct 31st, 05, 5:47 PM the mph is good enough for 10.80's easy. you just need to get that pig out of the hole. i think Todd is right, get a convertor that gets you in the powerband quicker and it should pick up enough to get the 10.80's that the mph says it will do.
Bob West Oct 31st, 05, 8:18 PM Thomas, I'm using SSM lower control arms without the lower mounts now since the Moser housing lower mounts are lower and the upper mounts are higher than a stock 12 bolt, I'm using METCO adjustable uppers set at stock length. I run 18-20 rear tire pressure in the drag radials, ran 20psi in the Hoosier radial slicks, I've got 45psi in the front tires, metric radials 165r/15's, going to a taller front tire next year. I currently am using an ATI 10" converter, was built for my old motor 3500 stall, might flash 3800 now, thats another item on the list for next year, 8" ATI (it will happen Todd :D) th400 with a BTE rev. manual valve body. 505 cubes, 10.53-1 comp, 781 oval ports, been worked a little with 2.25/1.88 valves, Performer RPM intake,Eds old Comp xr286r solid roller on a 107lsa, Mallory ignition, 2"x3" Hedman headers, HP950 which might be a tad too small, I picked up .03-.04 just bolting it on with a bog off idle, will try it again this coming weekend and try and tune the bog out of it. There is nothing real fancy about the combo, mainly cubes with pump gas compression. I dropped the initial timing from 38* to 35* and got my best e.t., but might have hurt 60fts a little. I'm not sure where to go next, just need .03, 1000ft air will do it, might bump the timing back up and put the 1000hp on it and see what happens, would just like to get the 10.99 with the motor as is, might drop the jets from 82 square to 81 square and see what gives. I'm almost there.
Javier, I just blew the tires off again, I need a timer or a button on the shifter handle so I can use it as needed. Bottle pressure was under 600psi also, thats why it only went 11.38 @ 122.

Yes Tom, the timing is locked at 35* right now, I dropped it back from 38* and lost a little 60ft, had I left it at 38* I might have went 10.99 on that last pass :( We sat for 2.5 hrs while they did their dash for cash, it was 1/8th mile racing and I didnt want to participate, I was there for bigger and better things. Had I got a 1.53 60ft, I might have made it after the long cool down.
