Anyone have any ideas on what to use to soundproof the trunk from the interior? I have the factory cardboard-like piece, but its pretty nasty. Must have gotten wet or something. Smells funny too. Anyway, I'm Dynamating the interior and was just wondering what others had done. I had thought about cardboard or wood, but it would have to be pretty thin wood to make it fit right. And cardboard just seems cheesy. Any ideas?

I forgot to add, these are not available new for a Caprice, so I'm on my own here. Thanks!

I bought some fiberboard (the brown stuff that's slick on one side & rough on the other) at Home Depot, laid what was left of my old divider on it for a pattern & cut it out with a jig saw. I had to do some trimming & cut some holes in it, but it worked great.

Funny you mention that stuff. I was just looking at a cheapo console for a VW that I had laying around and lo and behold, it was made out of that fiberboard stuff. Now that I know I can find it down the street I may just have to go buy a big piece of it and spend the day whittling it down. Thanks!

A line I'll borrow from Mr.Crown..
Note to self:

When selecting top 3 in 68 stock class at CB06, Bill L has homemade trunk divider. :p

You shouldn't have to worry about keeping the noise from the trunk out with insulation because the back seat mounts over that and it is well insulated.
