Get rid of that air cleaner and get one of the open element cleaners that has the drop down base (like what came from the factory). That will most likely cure the problem. Although, it may or may not fit down over that AFB choke.

Take the block and remove it. It should fit afterward. Its going to be close. Ive got the RPM Performer and the breather leaves an impression in the insulation on my hood.I had that carb set up on my intake and had no problems. Change intakes or carb, but youve got to get rid of the plate.

I might be wrong but the air cleaner alone is not going to solve your problem you need to get that spacer out of there, I have a open air style I dont think it will fit over the choke and carb you have, might have to swap over to a holley. I have a wiend stealth intake and a holley with an open element air cleaner and it fits just fine

I agree, get rid of the spacer and use a drop base air filter with a 3" element. The only other option that I see is a manifold such as a Weiand Stealth dual plane or an Edelbrock Torker 2 single plane, but that's going to be about a $200 alternative.

The intake looks like the stock big block manifold from 67. A quadrajet will work and so will a holley quad. Sell the AFB and spacer, problem solved.

Forgive me if this has already been covered.............but weren't the 67 sb mounts about 1" taller than the BB frame mounts?

Did you receive my e-mail same subject this morning??? Looks like most all of us are on the same sheet of music concerning your hood clearance issue.
