i have looked at this website on several occasions, wondering how they can sell their paint at such a low cost. compared to graemlins/clonk.gif dupont(nasson)ppg ect i mean how many paint makers are there? and seems like the same basic process . here is the web address. I AM NOT affiliated nor push any items on this web address! www.smartshoppersinc.com (http://www.smartshoppersinc.com)

Well its no different then a 15K Malibu vs a what 200K Bently.
You get what you pay for.
They sell cheaper because they use cheaper materials and refining processes

Hey, sevt, how about ICI paints? Local shop where I painted my Elky uses ICI. Seems to be a high end paint. Used ppg on the elky but had to redo the hood and used there ICI stuff and was impressed. Think I'll try it on the wagon soon...

ICI is NEXA autocolor which is a high end product which PPG bought out probably 5yrs ago.
Some of the PPG products are ICI products just in a different label...Eric

I've used the Kirker Epoxy and 2K primer for years and really like them. Plus, you cant beat the price. I've always used Dupont's Chromabase BC/CC system over them and have had absolutely no problems.

hey this is only my oppinion on these kirker brands. if it is your first paint job. why spend $600. on paint and find that you cant do the job for what ever the reason. more people will attempt there own paint job, if you can get the hole kit for what? $170. this is a hobby for most not a $200,000 investment graemlins/beers.gif . if everthing goes well get some confidence and want to try a more expensive paint ,then go for it.

Yes, but, Michael...Wouldn't giving the cheap paint a try first before buying the high dollar stuff, be kinda like test driving a Geo Metro before buying a Bentley? Ok, that's probably a far out example, but the cheaper products tend to perform differently than the better grades. Sometimes not a lot, but sometimes it's a totally different experience.

I've used DuPont ChromaClear and ChromaPremier clears for many years. I recently tried the TranStar clear. It cost many dollars less than DuPont. It's too soon to say if it's better or worse than the DuPont, but it for sure has to be sprayed differently. The viscosity is different which affects several other qualities of how it "lays down" etc in comparison to other clears.

Kirker paint line is not that bad. It comes down to your own preference. I mean that it is not top of the line, but it will get the job done. I have used low dollars paint lines like Omni (PPG) and cars come out really nice. Hey good luck with your paint job. Happy painting.
