My shifter seems to have a lot of play and it rattles at highway speeds. Should I order just the control assy or should I replace the shift rods and bracket as well?

If this is an original munice, they were junk when new (I hear everyone say). You will love a new hurst comp+ shifter.

What Ron said is true. BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUT, the vibration/buzzing in your shifter is not caused by the shifter, it is caused by vibration due to wear in the tranny itself. Sorry, time for a rebuild of the ole Muncie. The wear is most likely in the bearings and/or the rear bushing and driveshaft yoke are worn. Could be a combination of all. Regardless, to replace any of the above requires tear down of the tranny, so, might as well install a rebuild kit.
