Today at work I got a little reminder why you need to check and fit parts before you paint them or decide to modify them. About three weeks ago I ordered a pair of the new goodmark front fenders for a 70 chevelle, I bought them a company that sells alot of aftermarket parts to bodyshops. I bought them from there because I work at a body shop and was able to purchase the parts cheaper and save money on the frieght as well. Well today I got the fenders and looking at the boxes something just caught my eye, no where on the box or on the fender did it say goodmark.
The part numbers were different from the goodmark numbers. So I called up goodmark and asked some questions and what I heard was those numbers were a Sherman part number not goodmark. After a long talk with the company that I bought them from I got them to finally say that they were indeed a Sherman fender not goodmark. They tried to sell me a Sherman fender as a goodmark because they can make more money.
Make a long story short just always double check any parts that you buy, it doesnt matter if its a fender or engine pulley always double check it. And please test fit body panels before you prime them or jam them, I cant tell how many times Ive heard about parts not fitting right only after its been painted and now unreturnable...Have a Good One...Eric
