I need a new or good condition dash for my
chevelle. Where can i get one? I have not seen them in catalogs. The screw holes on mine are cracked etc. Also someone
put in a new radio and chewed out the holes.
I want to put the original radio back in.
Any help is appreciated
Thanks!!!

Sometimes Henshaw's Chevelle in Greensboro, NC has radios and dashes. I don't have their number off hand, but information could give it to you.

$300 isn't a bad price, you may want to grab it..I saw 70-72 SS dashes at Carlisle last year going for $500 or better.

Bill1969 -

Good dash cores (no holes, cracks, or cuts) are selling for $100 & up. It costs about $100 just to have it rechromed. If someone else paints it, there's probably another $100. So, like Sid indicated, $300 is not a bad price for one that is ready to install.

You have to realize that many people with 68-69 Chevelles are looking for good dash bezels because the vast majority of them are cracked, drilled, and/or cut. Check out our wanted ads and you'll see. Good luck!

bill1969,
Had good and bad experiences with my '69 dash bezel.

GOOD
DRD in Ohio restored mine for $175 includeing repair, chrome and paint. Paid $75 for core. I'm satisfied.

BAD
I once ordered a bezel from a parts place in Kansas City. Part never showed up but they billed my Master Card $240. MC got my money back.

I hit about ten swap meets a year and it took me over five years to find a good bezel. Keep in mind that there are several variations:
A/C - non-A/C - Astro Ventilation
Rear window defogger switch (exc. Elky)
Rear power window switch (station wagon)
Top switch (convertible)
Interior Color (non-SS cars)

All in all, I'd go for the $300 part.
