I amm fairly new to this Chevelle business. What is necessary to remove the enitre front clip as an assembly? I do not want to remove the fenders and the front end as pieces. I want to redo the entire engine compartment all at once and replce the engine and trans while the clip is off. Oh yeah its a'70.

Can somebody give me the steps?

i will take a shot at it, but i might miss a few bolts.
1-unbolt the fenders where they mount to the firewall and the tab that runs under the door.
2-unbolt the radiator core support from the front frame rails.
3-i don't run any fenderwells, but if they mount to the fram then unbolt them too.
then it should just pop right off with the help of a few friends! of course, just to make sure i didn't miss any i would look around before you try to lift it off. GOOD LUCK!!!

What part of Overland are you from?
Have a sister that lives on Lamar, planning on moving down there within the month

It'll be a lot lighter if you remove the hood first! Mark where the hinges are before you take it off. If there are shims anywhere, (and there will be) make sure to count the shims, and note where they come from. 2 bolts at the cowl, 2 bolts at the firewall, 2 in the door jambs, 2 at the bottom of the fenders, 2 in the radiator support. Unbolt the wiring harness from the bulkhead connector at the firewall. I think that's it!

I'll go 1 further... get a box of "zip-lock" backs, and a pad of paper. Throw the shims & bolts into a bag from each location, along with a note stating which hole they came from. Makes life a whole lot easier on reassembly!
