I am getting ready to spray my 1971 original molded rear bumper emblem and I need to know which is the correct color to paint the "SS" ? White or silver?

Thanks,
J.D.

Thanks for the replies, but this is why I posted the question. I repainted my emblem back in the eighty's, first white, then I repainted it silver. I want this to be the last time so I would like to know what color is correct. Any one with an unrestored 71 SS help out?

my cars is in storage right now . so i checked completed items on ebay and found 3 72 's with a silver emblem just like my untouched placer gold 72. in fact i would bet 5 large on it.

Silver is definitely correct, I have a correct 3975497 NOS one on my convertible. If you like, I will be getting mine out of storage next Saturday for our car club toy drive & would be glad to take a picture of it.

Let me know.

I love to give home made gifts, which one of the kids would you like?

Thanks Abodybill and 71BBSSCONV for setting the record straight! I just didn't want to trust the pictures in the resto catalogs, as we all know that reproductions are not always correct! Again Thanks!

Okay, Maybe silver is correct, I just don't see why every emblem but that one would be white??
