Part of a message I sent to a friend, also posted on Camaro board:

Went to the track last night. I don't think I mentioned it but I've been messing with a Q-jet for a few weeks. Did research online and did a few mods, got the air fuel ratio in the 12's using the LM1 wide band 02 sensor Todd and I bought. I got it running good I was very suprised, I had to use a spreadbore to squarebore intake adaptor so I don't know if that hurt performance or not. It took a lot of work to get rid of all the different bogs. My butt dyno thought it had more top end then my Holley, butt was wrong. The air quality was in the 2800ft range last night. Todd was hooking and running 10.40's at 128 +/-. .2 off his best. Q-jet results in order, 60ft-1/8-1/4:

1.77- 7.87/89.12- 12.32/109.78 1.75- 7.85/88.58- 12.31/109.65 1.82- 7.97/88.78- 12.44/109.37 first 2 were solid, third spun a bit

Put my Holley 650dp on and: also in order

1.78- 7.80/90.07- 12.20/111.23 spun 1.72- 7.77/89.54- 12.18/110.95 slight spin 1.73- 7.75/90.20- 12.14/111.33 slight spin 1.74- 7.77/89.61- 12.18/110.90 spun again
My slicks are very old I guess it's time for new, I was doing pretty big burnouts and lowered press a little but it didn't help.

Who knows, maybe the Q-jet with the correct intake and a bit more tuning would run equal mph. I think the Holley would always out 60ft it though. Milage only increased slightly. But to be fair my route to work isn't the best for milage with anything. 15 miles with abut 20 stop signs and traffic lights, have to stop about 10 times. Takes me 25 to 35 minutes.
