Got caught in a very light rain on the way to work this morning. I thought I was going crazy when I thought I felt water hitting my head! Seems that my top dosn't cinch down tight enough to the windshield when at speed. It looks fine when at rest, but once the wind hits it there's a gap. Looks like a new seal was installed. The hooks seem to have some adjustment to them - are there any gotcha's to watch out for in adjusting these?

Turn them down a little at a time, it should be 'tight' to latch down the top with the handles.

BTW, your always gonna have some leaking at highway speeds, but you should'nt see any gaps.

Comon by on Nov 12 (http://www.chevelles.com/forums/showthread.php?t=104853)and we'll get it good and tight.

Thanks Rob - a little at a time is good advice. I'd like to come on Nov 12 - I'm the soccer coach for my son's team and as you know, that stuff comes first.... have a good time.

My 65 has a rolled lip of top material along the edge of the top header. It seems to be there to eliminate the chance of leakage at the gap. Now on the other hand I get leaks in the corners where the doors meet the top. For what it's worth, these cars leaked like sieves when they were new.

If you like, e-mail me and I can shoot you a picture or two of what I'm talking about.

Rob - My wife's car is in for a recall today - so she had my truck. I had two choices this morning - motorcycle or convertible. I think you know the local weather today..... I started out with two turns of the hook (big gap!) - that was good, but one more was perfect. Thank you very much. On a side not, what a miserable car to drive in the rain!!! Tiny slow wipers, no traction whatsover - I think I need a fourth car!!!!
