I hate to trouble you but I've got a bit of a dilemma on my hands. I'm going to be adding some Brodix RR to my combo and am thinking about doing the cam as well and looking for suggestions. I haven't fully made up my mind if I'm going to go with another solid f/t or move on to a roller. Below is my current setup and while I'm pretty happy with my current Comp XS274 solid f/t I'm not sure if I want to stick with it (HP bug has bit me). Your help is greatly appreciated!!

427 (.060 over to a 439ci)
SRP forged pistons
RPM Air Gap Intake
With the Brodix RR 115cc chamber compression will be about 10.5-1
Current cam is a Comp Cams XS274 236/242 Dur. .565/.575 Lift (A little worried that the compression bump from 10.1 to 10.5.1 might put me in detonation territory with my current cam and duration.
Muncie M-20 4spd trans (supercase w/ iron mid plate)
355 12 bolt posi rear
Manual disc brakes…(no vacuum to worry about)

The car only sees about 1500~3000 miles per year. Mostly used for Street duty but only a weekend warrior ;-)

If anyone else has feedback it's appreciated as well. I just need to make up my mind on the cam so I can get my heads orded w/ the correct springs installed if possible.

The "right" sized cam like a 272/282 or the 276/284 is not going to like the 10.5:1 unfortunately, unless you go with a very wide LSA like 114.

I'll give you a bump. I am planning on swapping to Brodix RR's and a new cam this winter. CR should be 10.0-10.5:1 and am probably going to go with an Air Gap. Would be interested to hear the answer.

Tim,

I'll give you 2, both available from Lunati as regular part numbers and still solid lifter flat tappets......
402A4LUN 282/292 248/255 .570"/.586" 112---Goes 1 year+ between lashings.
402A5LUN 285/295 252/261 .595"/.595" 110---May need 3.73-3.90, rowdy race cam, will still go for years on street. This one obviously makes the most power.
The A5 will be fastest, the A4 the easiest to drive in traffic. The A4 is just a bigger version of the 272/282.
If you want a roller, let me know. I have both .630" and .660" BBC rollers with years of street experiences on them.

I would like to hear about the Solid Roller cams if you don't mind. It would need to survive on the street and be faily easy on parts. Thanks for all the replies thus far! I can also go with the 118cc CNC chamber to bring the compression back down to 10-1 if necessary.
