I'm looking to replace my floorpans. Looking in a parts magazine they only have a diagram for full body cars, Chevelle, Malibu. They do not have a diagram for the El Camino. Which means I'm slightly lost as to which floorpans I need to replace. Basicly, it's quite rusty underneath the driver and passenger seats, but the toe boards are good.
At least I hope what I need to replace are the floorpans, otherwise I know alot less than I thought I did.
Also, what do you think it will run to have new floorpans put on?

When you go to buy your floor pan pieces, you will need to buy the smaller section pieces (toe dash section, front floor pan, etc...), depending on how much rust you have. Then you'll have to trim to fit your floor pan as necessary. I'm sure someone who has done an El Camino can give you more info, as I am only going off the notes in my NPD catalog (www.npdlink.com). Good Luck!

They used a passenger car floor pan on ElCaminos. When mine were replaced on my 66 Elky we used the full pan which came r/side--l/side. Each side started just below the toe panel and ended just in front of the front lower edge of where rear seat would be. That was about 6 years ago- I think they have improved them to include more of the tranny hump than before. If you remove the smugglers box cover on the 66 elcaminos you can even see the seat belt nuts and the seat brackets. Can't verify this is true on 68 up models. Pull the storatge pocket behind front seat and look in there with a flashlight. Should help you to figure out how far you need to go. Also it is not uncommon for the crossmembers to rust out also. Pull seats, carpet and poke around with a screw driver from both top and bottom of car. Won't speak to cost as there too many variables. Try to find someone in your area that has done it before so there won't be too many surprises. Good Luck Karl
